Information and Resources for Crime Victims

Victims and witnesses of crimes have specific rights and expectations which shall include the right to be treated with dignity, fairness and compassion by members of our department involved in a criminal investigation. The Coventry Police Department is committed to the development, implementation, and continuation of appropriate victim/witness assistance programs and activities. Officers will often refer crime victims to programs that can help them recover physically, emotionally and financially.

Domestic Violence

The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) is the state's leading voice for victims of domestic violence and those agencies that serve them. Useful information regarding domestic violence laws and policies and the rights of victims can be found on the CCADV website.

State Office of the Victim Advocate

The State of Connecticut Office of the Victim Advocate ensures that rights guaranteed under Article XXIX of the Constitution of the State of Connecticut are protected.  The Office of the Victim Advocate can be contacted for further information. 

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Victims and witnesses of crimes committed by criminal aliens can register for the HSI Victim Notification Program.
