Technology Monday

AARP Smart Driving Class

with instructor James Hatch, Wednesday, October 17th 9 A.M. - 1 P.M., Pre-registration with payment is required; $15 AARP members, $20 non-AARP members. This is a classroom course, no written tests, no road test!

Healthy Balance Series

October 18th at 5:15-6:15 P.M. Yoga Nidra: a state of consciousness between walking and sleeping, like the "going-to-sleep stage... The yogic goal of both paths, deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and meditation are the same, a state of meditative consciousness called Samadhi. *Bring a yoga mat, blanket, eye mask and wear comfortable clothing. Extra mats are available at the Center.

Monthly Wal-mart Trip

Free transportation from the Senior Center OR Orchard Hills Estates at 9:30 A.M. with a return time of noon on Friday, October 19th.

Goodwin Dental College 

Dental Hygiene students will host a presentation AND screening on oral health, aging and how dental health impacts overall health. Tuesday, October 23rd @ 10:45 A.M. RSVP is appreciated. This is a FREE event.

Guest Speaker/Storyteller 

Raouf Mama, Ph.D, an award-winning storyteller and internationally renown, the only one in the world today who tells folktales from this native Benin in West Africa and from other parts of the world in English, French, Yoruba, and Fon. Both entertaining and inspirational, Dr. Mama's style of presentation blends stories with poetry, music and dance, and amazing, dramatic voices. He is a "Distinguished Professor of English" at Eastern Connecticut State University.
