Town of Coventry – eased restrictions under Reopening CT
The Town of Coventry is beginning to roll out eased restrictions under the next phase of reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic. See below for updates:
Transfer station: returning to normal operation this week. Thursday noon-6 PM, Saturday 9 AM – 3 PM.
Fingerprinting services: Resuming at the Police Department 6/17/20 by appointment only. Appointments available from 9 AM to 11 AM, and 2 PM to 5 PM. Call 860-742-7331 beginning at 9 AM on 6/15/20 to reserve a time. Only those with appointments will be printed.
Town Hall: We encourage you to continue to use online services or the self-serve permit station at the side vestibule wherever possible. Walk-in’s continue to be restricted, but in-person appointments are available on a department-by-department basis. For a staff directory to schedule an appointment, see this link: https://www.coventryct.org/Directory.aspx. Entrance to the building will be limited to the rear door, and through the side vestibule by the Building office. Please respect our safety guidelines: wear a mask when entering the building, use hand sanitizer at the entrance, and observe social distancing guidelines. We have also installed new drop boxes in both vestibules – back entrance for the tax collector, assessor and town clerk, and side vestibule for building/land use, recreation and human services.
Meals: The school-provided meals program is coming to a close this week. If you need assistance with food for your family, contact the Human Services Department about participating in the Coventry Food Bank. By appointment at 860-742-5324.
Senior Center: The Senior Center will remain closed to the public at the present time, but transportation and other assistance is available by contacting the Center at 860-742-3525.
Beaches: Open weekends only and no lifeguards on duty until June 20th. Resident parking stickers for Lisicke Beach available online. Details here: https://www.coventryct.org/536/2020-Coventry-Beaches-Opening-Schedule.
Booth & Dimock Memorial Library: online resources, and curbside services now available. Summer reading program registration begins 6/9. Details here: http://www.coventrypl.org/.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we move toward this “new normal” of operations.
