INVITATION TO BID

Sealed bids for “SOFTBALL FIELD No. 2 PROJECT AT MILLER RICHARDSON PARK”
will be received until 2:00 p.m. Local Time, April 11, 2023 in the Town Manager’s Office,
Town Hall, 1712 Main Street, Coventry, CT. This project includes, but is not limited to, the
installation of a Softball Field at the Town of Coventry Miller Richardson Park located at the
Town’s current Laydown Yard off of South Street Extension in Coventry, Connecticut. The
Contractor shall be responsible for but not limited to: maintaining overall site conditions,
maintaining permanent access roads, installing and maintaining erosion control measures,
installation of Softball Field and restoration of the site. The work shall be performed in
accordance with the requirements of the “State of Connecticut Department of
Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads, Bridges and Incidental Construction,
Form 818, 2020” including all Supplemental Specifications, and the project specifications.
The perspective bidder shall make themselves aware of the project area prior to submitting
bids. A pre-bid meeting will be held on site at 3:00 P.M. local time, on March 28, 2023 with
the Town staff to allow site access and answer questions.

Contract documents, pdf format, can be obtained from the Town’s website under Bid
Postings at https://www.coventryct.org/bids.aspx. Bidder shall utilize the bid form, 10%
bid bond, projected contractor’s schedule, qualifications of bidder, non-collusion form,
CHRO Notification to Bidder Form, and s in the manual for bid submittal. Bidders are
requested to notify the Town Engineer if they are a prospective bidder.

This contract is subject to state set aside and contract compliance requirements.

All bidders are required to be CT DAS pre-qualified for their bids to be considered
responses. Proof shall be required with bid submittal package.

The Town of Coventry reserves the right to reject all bids, or to waive any technical defects,
and to make an award to the party determined to be the lowest cost, responsive and
responsible bidder if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.

No Bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the
opening thereof.
