Senior Center Resources
In addition to our regularly scheduled events, we offer several ongoing programs and services at the Senior Center. Feel free to call us at 860-742-3525 for more information on these activities.

CHOICES refers to Connecticut's program for health insurance assistance, outreach, information and referral, counseling and eligibility screening. This program offers Connecticut seniors a one-stop resource that provides information and referral services on a wide variety of aging-related matters, including assistance on health insurance concerns. It also helps older seniors to understand and exercise their rights, to receive benefits to which they are entitled, and to make informed choices about life concerns.

The Senior Center has two certified CHOICES Counselors - Emma King and Penny Whitaker. If you would like to schedule an appointment please call 860-742-3525. Open enrollment runs from October 7 through December 15th.

Our CHOICES program now offers a BENEFITS CHECK UP. This program provides preliminary screening for many general state and/or federal benefits or supports, including Medicare, general assistance, tax relief, supplemental security income and much more. The Benefits Check Up tool is completely confidential. It does not require your name, address, telephone or Social Security number to determine potential eligibility for benefits. To access the Benefits Check Up tool, you can make an appointment with our CHOICES counselor, or visit the website at Please contact Penny at 860-742-3525 for more information on this program.
